Resolved Question: Limited budget to travel to Japan. HELP?

I have booked a cheap ticket to Japan for 11 days and 10 nights during summer. (The first day will not be going anywhere since the flight arrives at 10 at night and we must go to the hotel directly.) 1. How to get cheap shinkansen tickets around the famous cities of Japan? (Eg. Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagoya, Osaka etc. but not Sapporo, Naha or other cities quite far from Tokyo). 2. Famous tourist attractions? (If possible cheap or free) around those cities and the things to do. 3. How to get cheap hotels at japan? Because they charge us per person staying, not the number of rooms booked. 4. Kindly explain to me about the Japanese transportations. 5. What to eat?
